Restore balance between mind and body
The term Ayurveda is made up of two words: “Ayus” which means life and “Veda” meaning science or knowledge. Ayurveda can therefore be translated as “science of healthy living”. The aim of Ayurveda is to maintain health and eliminate diseases or disorders. Ayurveda has its origins in ancient India and the earliest writings date back over 3000 years.
The principle of the three energies
According to Ayurveda, everything in the universe is made up of the five elements ether, air, fire, water and earth. Each of these elements has certain characteristics and forms, which are also found in the human body. From these five elements, three energy principles (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) are deduced, which regulate all physical and mental processes in people, as well as influencing their build, character, preferences, strengths and any resulting imbalances/diseases.
Ayurvedic massage is a very ancient technique that aims to restore the balance between mind and body, bringing prana (life energy) back into flow by dissolving blockages, rejuvenating the tissues and promoting the agility of the musculoskeletal system. All Ayurvedic treatments are curative and help to restore the healing processes and the natural balance of the body.
